Independent Financial Planner - Employed - salary £30k to £60k p/a + bonuses - Bristol, UK

The Role

We are looking for a talented and capable Independent Financial Planner to competently provide financial advice to clients within FCA rules and Aspirations' policies, processes and procedures. Preferably, you will be bringing some of your own clients with you, but it's not essential; full paraplanner and admin support will be provided. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a fresh challenge with a dynamic and rapidly developing company.

The key responsibilities of an Independent Financial Planner include, but are not limited to:
  • Identifying and contacting potential clients, building a rapport with them and exceeding their expectations wherever possible
  • Keeping and providing accurate records of leads and prospective clients
  • Supported by the paraplanning team, gathering sufficient client information and identifying client needs; analysing information gathered and undertaking sufficient research to make suitable recommendations
  • Completing all supporting documentation in an accurate and timely manner
  • Attaining and maintaining competent status as defined by FCA and Aspirations
  • Maintaining performance standards in accordance with those outlined in the Key Performance Indicators section of the Training and Competence procedures
  • Committing to self-development and training

The Person

The key skills and qualities of an Independent Financial Planner:
  • At least level 4 qualified, as well as detailed knowledge of FCA requirements.
  • Experience in using Intelligent Office and/or other financial planning software.
  • Work accurately within defined business processes and achieve agreed outcomes without supervision, and can multi-task, prioritise and plan own workload effectively.
  • Can demonstrate strong analytical, IT and report writing skills, paying close attention to detail in every aspect of their work.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, able to convey complex information in an articulate and concise manner.
  • A good knowledge of financial services, able to keep up to date with the latest developments.
