Mercury Talent are delighted to be recruiting for a volunteer co-ordinator for a leading charity based on the outskirts of Woking.

The ideal person will have worked or volunteered for a charity previously however this is advantageous and not essential. You must however have previous customer service and administration experience. Excellent communication skills are essential for the role as a good standard of Microsoft Excel. Attention to detail and the ability to organise your workload as well as work to deadlines are key. If you have a warm and friendly personality with a great sense of humour, have a passion for charity work and want to work in a rewarding environment this could be your ideal next career move.

Reporting to the Charity Volunteer manager your daily responsibilities will include:

* Managing volunteer adverts as well as various volunteer promotions

* Liasing with volunteers to answer any queries and contact all previous volunteers to tell them about new events

* Build relationships with business and local universities to encourage volunteer participation

* Assisting in enrolling new volunteers with a high degree of accuracy

* Preparing documentation for charity events including maps and other materials to ensure the event is a success

* Working closely with the event team and participating or helping at the events ( this will require some weekend working during event season )

In return you will be offered a competitive salary of £25k with excellent benefits including 25 days holiday as well as flexitime working hours between 8am and 6pm - 37.5 hours per week.
