Software Development Engineer required. My client are a Design and Manufacture company, specialising in Water and Waste Water products. The company focus mainly on providing industrial waste water measurement and treatment solutions. They have a wide range of products that are valued in this specific market, and they are now seeking a Software Development Engineer to join their Research & Development department to guide and develop new products whilst also working with existing products.

The ideal candidate will be based in North Wales, however there may be opportunities for candidates based in West Yorkshire as this is where the company offices are based.

Software Development Engineer Position Overview
  • Developing and maintaining all software used an reviewing code and design
  • Responsible for designing, developing, coding, testing and debugging system software
  • Implementing and designing software of devices and systems from requirement all the way through to production and commercial deployment
  • Managing software data repository
  • Assessing open source and third party software
  • Integrating and validating any new software designs
  • Working closely to analyse and enhance efficiency, stability and scalability of resources
  • Providing post-production support
  • Managing the companies software procedures

Software Development Engineer Position Requirements
  • BSc degree in Computer Engineering or other appropriate software background is essential
  • C# and .NET application development for a minimum of 3 years is essential
  • Proven experience of programming in C and C++
  • Competent in software design, with the ability to multitask operating systems, preferably in sensor-based instrumentation
  • Excellent working knowledge of OS coding techniques, interfaces and hardware subsystems and IP protocols
  • Good knowledge of applying rugged software techniques
  • Strong communication skills, along with documentation and writing skills
  • Capable of working to deadlines and demonstrating original and proactive thinking
  • Highly motivated individual with a desire to learn new skills
  • Commutable distance to either North Wales or West Yorkshire

Software Development Engineer Position Remuneration
  • Salary £25,000 - £38,000, dependent upon experience
  • Working hours Monday - Friday, 40 hour working week
  • 28 Days Holiday, including bank holiday
  • Pension
