My client is a large managed services provider that supports corporate and public sector clients with the top quality IT services, solutions and products. Their managed services teams are based Peterborough and they provide a focused range of hosted and cloud services through their extensive portfolio, designed to assist customers align their IT functions to their core business requirements.

My client is now recruiting for a 2nd Line Desktop Support person to join their busy team based at their Peterborough NOC. Working within a large team, you will help maintain and provide the services of my client. You will be working on technical calls for all software and hardware related issues raised by customers or their in house remote management and monitoring solutions. Your main responsibility is to ensure that all tickets are updated and solved within an agreed SLA for their customers.

The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, will have good communication skills and be prepared to work out of hours as this is a weekends role, working Friday/Saturday/Sunday/Monday 8am-6pm. For this the client are looking to pay up to £27,000 + 10% Shift allowance and put you through an extensive training and development plan around Cloud technologies (Azure, O365, AWS) and core infrastructure technologies (Exchange, Server, VMware, Hyper-V).

Essential Skills:
  • At least 2 - 3 years' experience in a similar SLA driven support role
  • Proven Customer service Skills
  • Proven experience in delivering projects and complex changes.
  • Industry recognised qualifications in relevant areas.
  • Knowledge/experience in the following technologies.
    • Windows Server 2008/2012/2016
    • Exchange 2013/2016
    • Active Directory
    • File Server / Print Server
    • Microsoft RDS
