Occupational Health Advisor Job Description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a permanent Occupational Health Advisor based in Lancashire on a full time 12 month fixed term contract.

This is a brand new, site based Occupational Health Advisor role working for a privately owned Occupational Health provider on one site with a particular focus on mental health.

Occupational Health Advisor Job Requirements:
The Occupational Health Advisor will be based across two sites close together in Lancashire. The Occupational Health Advisor will join a small onsite Occupational Health team receiving all the support needed from senior management to bring success to this contract.

This a brand-new role with the remit of supporting the identification and management of mental health risks across our client's business. The successful individual will also be tasked with developing policy and strategy for managing complex occupational health cases within the client setting.

The Occupational Health Advisor will primarily be responsible for supporting and guiding the other nurses with regards to mental health, but, as part of the team, will also be responsible for the delivery of a high-quality occupational health nursing service. The Occupational Health Advisor will have a lot of autonomy and a wide range of opportunity to develop the service with regards to mental health.

The Occupational Health Advisor will undertake the full remit of Occupational Health and play a leading role in delivering and co-ordinating Occupational Health services and will be required to carry out the following:
• Define and develop policy and strategy for managing complex occupational health cases
• Define and implement a model for professional support of the Mental Health First Aiders Community across the client's business area
• Attend and support the Client's Mental Health Working group.
• To provide expert, evidence based complex case management services for referrals relating to attendance, fitness for work and other requests for OH advice.
• Provide professional, comprehensive and evidence based written reports
• Provide expert advice in respect of legislative requirements and best practice relating to OH
• To provide fitness medicals and health surveillance that meet best practice requirements and are in line with policies and protocols
• To evaluate the results of medicals and surveillance provided, and ensure that the correct advice in relation to fitness is communicated, escalating where clinically appropriate
• To provide (where competent) other OH services where required such as vaccinations, travel health services, ergonomic advice, or health promotion for our client
• To provide clinical supervision and support other team members where relevant

Occupational Health Advisor Skills/ Qualifications:
My client is looking for Occupational Health Advisor who is an RGN with a qualification in Occupational Health who is a specialist in mental health.

The Occupational Health Advisor will be a committed, enthusiastic and driven individual with proven experience of building relationships and successfully delivering projects.

The Occupational Health Advisor role will need to have excellent communication skills, exemplary customer care skills, and have experience coaching fellow clinicians in mental health cases.
