Experienced Risk Specialist required to join UKRI.

Your new role
You will be joining the UKRI Governance, Assurance, Risk and Information Governance (GARI) function which is part of the UKRI central services team where you will be supporting all nine research councils. You'll enjoy a varied and challenging role where you will work with the wider risk and counter fraud team to create, lead and implement a comprehensive risk management programme that will operate across all of the research councils. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of risk policies and strategies that align with the overall risk framework for UKRI, deliver risk management training to colleagues, review new programmes to identify and mitigate risk and provide professional advice to senior stakeholders on the status of risk. You'll act as a business partner and will therefore need to positively challenge colleagues across the organisation to ensure risk management best practice is adhered to at all times.

What you'll need to succeed
You'll have a risk management qualification with demonstrable experience of supporting in the development and implementation of risk management strategies with a good understanding of risk and assurance standards. You'll be able to build effective working relationships with senior stakeholders and confidently provide the appropriate level of challenge in relation to risk management. It is possible that as the GARI function grows you may manage other members of the team therefore experience of managing people is desirable.

In addition to this y ou'll earn between £38,318 - £42,576 per annum with 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays plus privilege days. This role is being offered on a two-year fixed term contract basis and will be based in the Swindon office with some travel.
