Working days and hours: Monday to Friday, 9am- 5.30/5.00pm

Pay: £20.00 to £24.00 (Umbrella) or £18.00 to £22.75per hour (PAYE)

Duties include:
  • To provide IT engineering support for the maintenance and development of IT data networks (WAN, LAN, VLANS) and telecommunication systems within the Trust.
  • To meet the requirements of the Trust staff and support functions as the main customers and assist in provision of advice and assistance to other business functions and CSU's.
  • Act as a specialist and point of contact in developing, maintaining telephony systems (including mobile telephony) and publishing knowledge base materials and guides.
  • Responsible for providing support for IT and telecommunications services to support the CSUs with responsibility for the installation, configuration and repair of IT assets. In particular, the post holder will be expected to specialise in the support and development of telephony, network and server systems to meet the requirements of the Trust.
  • Act as a point of contact in developing, maintaining and publishing knowledge base materials in relation to telephony, networks and servers and linking these to the Helpdesk system as appropriate.
  • Investigate and respond in a timely and efficient manner to faults and enquiries from clinical and non-clinical staff of different grades and disciplines.
  • Provide training and development support to other IT support staff.
  • Organise and prioritise workload to meet service levels.
  • Ensure that the procurement, installation, use, maintenance and disposal of hardware and software are undertaken in accordance with manufacturer's / supplier's requirements and with Trust Policy.
  • Assist with Planning, coordinate and monitor the delivery of server based network and telephony infrastructure projects

Desireable Skills / Experience
  • Cisco CCNP (Routing and Switching, Security)
  • Project Management qualification, such as PRINCE II or experience of using structured project methodology
  • ITIL v.2/v.3 Foundation Qualification
  • Evidence of continuous personal and professional development.
  • Experience of IT infrastructure design, planning and testing to solve complex business requirements
  • Previous experience of Telephony support and development across a range of service
  • Demonstrable knowledge and skills in supporting telephony systems
