Apex Recruitment are recruiting for the position of CMM Programmer, for a client who specialises in the design, manufacture and supply of high performance, precision engineering components based in St Neots.

Role: CMM Programmer

Location: St Neots

Contract type: Permanent

Days: 08:00am to 17:00pm Monday - Friday

Salary: £30,000 - £38,000 per annum

Our client, who specialise in the design and manufacture of precision engineered components for the motorsport and automotive sector are looking for an experienced CMM programmer to join their team. They specialise in component products, and their motorsport roots have honed our ability to deliver complex projects quickly and effectively.

  • Programme, set and operate CMM machines,
  • Inspection and sign off the "First off" component for each batch of production parts ensuring the accuracy of the precision machined components manufactured in the company's busy CNC machine shop
  • Inspection of any inbound goods manufactured outside the business
  • Creation of Inspection schedules, highlighting the key characteristics of the component
  • Producing inspection reports such as ISIR and FAIR reports
  • Work with Quality, Manufacturing and Production Engineering Managers to ensure the components manufactured match produced plans and achieve the desired quality
  • Raise inspection schedules
  • Reject parts when necessary in line with procedures and liaise with the Quality team to create Non-Conformity reports

  • PCDMIS programming experience is essential,
  • HND or equivalent experience in an engineering discipline,
  • You must be experienced in reading and understanding Engineering drawings,
  • It would also be beneficial to understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing,
  • You should also be experienced with relevant measuring equipment, including Digital Height Gauge, Micrometers and Bore Mics,
  • Understanding the PPAP process as well as ISIR and FAIR reporting would also prove beneficial,
  • You should also be a good communicator and happy to liaise with customers and staff alike,
  • You will need to be organised with a good eye for detail.
