JOB AD:

The CPU Core Modeling and Performance Expert Interact with the architects, software teams and to evaluate the micro-architecture of the core units including multi-core scheduler, memory hierarchy and various interconnects. This Expert shall also help define performance verification and validation strategies at different levels for the processor core and carry out the related work to ensure meeting performance targets.

Essential Skills and Experience:

- Good understanding of computer system architecture, memory systems or cache coherency

- Good understanding of different instruction set architecture (General Processor, DSP, GPU)

- Must demonstrate ability to take micro-architectural concepts to cycle-accurate models.

- Experience with C++ programming experience and familiarity with generic programming techniques (e.g. templates) is required.

- Familiarity with common simulation techniques is required (e.g. simple functional simulation, simple time management, etc.).

Desirable Skills and Experience

- MS or PHD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.

- Minimum of 8 years of HW modeling related experience

- Familiarity with the ARM architecture and the micro-architecture for current ARM CPU cores.

- Experience with SystemC and QEMU is highly desirable.

- ESL: knowledge of system-level development tools from 3rd party EDA vendors including Carbon, Mentor, Synopsys etc

- Experience with the design/verification in one or more of the following disciplines

o Multi-core/multi-thread system and scheduling

o Multi-level cache hierarchy

o Memory Management Unit

o Interrupts and Exception Handling

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Other:

- Co-operate and communicate well with the architecture team and other members of development team.

- Must be a highly organized, detail-oriented self-starter, who works well independently, as well as in a team environment

- Travel to Beijing and ShenZhen sites may be required.

- Good presentation and internal customer interaction skills.
