Your new role
You will be joining the UKRI Governance, Assurance, Risk and Information Governance (GARI) function which is part of the UKRI central services team where you will be supporting all nine research councils. You will be responsible for undertaking and delivering Funding Assurance assignments which will either be onsite visits to research organisations or UKRI office-based reviews depending on the size and complexity of the assignments you are auditing. You will need to effectively audit a variety of funding assignments in line with the terms and conditions under which the funding has been awarded and produce full Funding Assurance reports. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop their understanding of Funding Assurance and ensure the importance of effective funding practices are recognised by the wider research community. Occasionally, this will involve representing the Funding Assurance team at workshops and events.

What you'll need to succeed
A relevant qualification (ACCA, CIMA or relevant audit qualification), or a degree as minimum, with relevant work experience. You'll need to be able to analyse complex data and will need to show demonstrable experience of producing clear, well-structured reports. Knowledge or experience within a research environment and understanding of the principles of TRAK are highly advantageous.

In addition to this you'll earn between £38,318 - £42,576 per annum (+ £5000 qualification allowance) with 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays plus privilege days. This role is being offered on a two-year fixed term contract basis and will be based in the Swindon office.
