The Company:

We are currently searching for an experienced Design Manager, for our client a highly successful housing developer that has experienced steady growth and has established themselves as a leading name in the Residential market. Their projects are all based in the Cheshire region, making this a great opportunity for a Design Manager in the area looking for a local opportunity. We are looking for a passionate Design Manager with a strong track record in delivering exceptional projects on time and on budget.

Role duties:

The Design Manager will manage the design process and report on all planning, architectural and engineering or aspects of the business from land acquisition through to site completions.

- Provide a practical and cost effective design service to the company.
- Management of inhouse and external designers to ensure that best practice is followed, costs are controlled, the department maximises revenue generation and contribution to the companys operating profit.
- Jointly responsible for producing technical design solutions within cost plan or approved appraisal budget.
- Take responsibility for site evaluation, planning, architectural or engineering design and the investigation of technical problems encountered and provision of economically viable solutions.
- Jointly ensure that Technical Department procedures are adhered to, and layouts, technical reports for land appraisal and required working drawings are provided within the agreed date schedule.
- Liaise with Land/Development/Estimating/Construction/Sales Departments throughout the development process, provide technically correct information as required.
- Take responsibility for liaison with regulatory bodies such as the NHBC, planning and drainage authorities in order to satisfy current standards and conditions.
- Undertake the role of Lead Designer under the CDM Regulations or Negotiate and deliver planning consents to the agreed timetable

To be successful in the role you will possess the following skills and attributes:

- CSCS Card
- First Aid
- Have excellent communication and problem solving skills
- Must be computer literate
