The Role

We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Setting Out Engineer to work within our Major Projects Division. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing Company on a new major contract.

The person

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all infrastructure works are set out in accordance with the construction drawings and client specifications and you will be required to record initial, progress and as built information accurately, advising the site teams of any changes required.

Working collaboratively with the Project Teams, you will be responsible for setting out, surveying and drawing management of our works carried out on our major infrastructure projects.

Existing experience as a Setting Out Engineer working within the civil engineering sector is required.

Key responsibilities:
  • Providing technical advise for operational teams - providing solutions to technical issues
  • Setting out and surveying the site.
  • Checking drawings and plans including all calculations
  • Managing client design documentation
  • Working collaboratively with project delivery teams and senior management
  • Preparing surveys and reports
  • Setting out as per the scheme construction drawings
  • Compliant with Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Management Systems
  • Driving project efficiency and quality

Hours of Work

Your working hours will be 7 am to 5.30 pm. Some flexibility will be required to work nights and weekends as required to meet contractual requirements.

Essential criteria
  • Chartered Institute of Civil Engineering Surveyors
  • Conversant with PAS 256, 128
  • Demonstrated experience in setting out on large scale infrastructure projects
  • A good level of IT literacy
  • A driving License
  • Current CSCS Card and First Aid Certificate
  • SMSTS Accreditation a distinct advantage
