White Label are proud to be working with a growing engineering company in Leeds who require a Design Engineer. This will be a very varied role giving you the opportunity to be involved in project work from cradle to grave with a view to move up to management in the next few years.

My client design and manufacture bespoke machinery for a number of industries. The machinery incorporates sheet metal and moving/rotating components. They are in the process of moving from AutoCAD to Solidworks and this is an opportunity to spearhead that change and really make an impact.

My client is completely open to a fresh graduate or someone with 2 years or more industry experience.

The day to day will be:
  • Support machinery sales by formulating engineering solutions that combine an understanding of customers' requirements with processing equipment design options.
  • Develop mechanical engineering designs, through CAD and prototyping, for components and assemblies for use in fibre processing equipment and production lines.
  • Work with Customers and collaborate with the R&D, Control Systems and Production Teams at FET in carrying out processing trials on equipment to evaluate performance of designs and identify and produce solutions.
  • Monitor activities and help overcome problems as they are encountered, by testing, analysing data and reporting progress towards meeting customer requirements.
  • Track project costs, coordinating manufacture of components at offsite subcontractors and assembly on site.
  • Liaise with external sources for advice on materials, components, new technologies, testing, retention of IP etc.
  • Where required, participate in commissioning trials of FET processing lines.

  • Experience using both AutoCAD 2D and Solidworks.
  • Knowledge of moving/rotating design would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Willing to get stuck in and be a real allrounder.
  • Efficiently communicate with different stakeholders within the business.
  • Someone looking for a long and rewarding career with a view to move into management.


Our client is looking to offer a salary of £20,000 to £30,000 depending on experience.

25 days holiday + bank holidays


Working hours Monday to Thursday 8:30 - 4:30 with a 3:30 finish on Fridays.
