Reporting to the public sector sales manager, the primary focus of the Bid Manager is management and execution of bids and tenders, from qualification through to contract award. Managing virtual teams and interfacing with a variety of departments within the business, including; sales, pre-sales, vendor partners, distribution and marketing. This is a fast paced role with huge potential for growth.

Key Responsibilities/Tasks:

* Manage bid qualification process and develop for larger projects in collaboration with our central European Public Sector team

* End to end ownership of projects - coordinating, writing, editing, reviewing, formatting and submitting responses

* Management of 1 team member - Bid Executive

* Responsible for writing, organising and managing high quality proposals, including; PQQs, ITTs, RFQs, RFPs, RFIs and proposals

* Ownership of the catalogue business, including all orders associated with Crown Commercial service and the MOD catalogue

* To play a vital role in the development of relationships that you hold with distribution and manufacturers, identifying ways to better engage

* Work with the business to improve and maintain the bid library to improve future proposals

* Managing a pipeline report of ongoing bids and tenders in UK

* Responsible for local framework agreements and management information reports

* Arrange bid reviews and generate bid reports for analysis by management and to be used for future improvements and forecasting

* Communicate and influence at a senior level

Requirements (essential)

* Bid writing and bid management experience

* The ability to communicate clearly and effectively

* Maintaining excellent internal relationships with colleagues, understanding the roles of each colleague to better utilise resources

* Work to time constraints whilst maintaining a high level of detail on responses

* An understanding of bid management processes

* Strong commercial and risk management skills

* Strong time management and organisation skills

* Experienced in MS Office

* Self motivated, pro-active team player

Desirable (but not essential)

* Management / team leader experience

* Good understanding of procurement frameworks (e.g. Government / Crown Commercial)

* Bid manager qualifications, e.g. APMP certification
