Randstad Education is working exclusively with a school in Preston that are seeking an Attendance Officer on a permanent basis from September.

The purpose of the role is to create a positive attitude towards attendance on the part of Pupils and their parents/carers to ensure students progress and achieve.

What you'll need to do to accomplish this...
(This job will include but will not be limited too)

Devising and Implementing a system to successfully monitor student's attendance and punctuality and to effectively liaise with the senior leadership team with current attendance and absence rates.
Effectively identify the pupils that have absence issues and address underlying causes. This will mean liaising with parents/carers and potentially social services or other agencies to address the individual needs of children.
Liaising with families to pursue concerns about attendance and other welfare issues and devising strategies to improve attendance.
You must have working knowledge of relevant legislation including The Children Act, The Education Act and Children and Young Persons Act.
Be a mentor for a small number of pupils if required.
Liaise with travellers and refugees to ensure children access and benefit from education.The ideal candidate will be...

The closing date for applications is the 16th August 2019.
This is a full time perm job, working term time only + 5 insets, 37 hours per week
(08:00am-4:00pm Mon-Thurs, 3:30pm Fri)
