If you answered YES, we're looking for a Finance Analyst that will work across Drax Customer to join our team based in Northampton!

In this role, your key purpose will be to provide reporting and understanding of gross margin (revenue and direct costs) and operating expenses of our electricity, gas and renewable energy retail business.

Specific responsibilities within the role include;

* Preparation of timely and accurate month end reporting and supporting the annual budget and reforecasting cycle.
* Working with business leaders and their teams, providing finance input on areas including customer bids, trend analysis, benchmarking and contract negotiations
* Working with the Accounting and FPA teams to ensure delivery of insightful and timely information and commentary which accurately measures performance and variances from plans, allowing for action to be taken
* Supporting both the audit cycle and planning and re-forecasting cycles as part of the wider finance team

What background do you need to succeed?

The ideal candidate will be CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified and will have gained experience in a commercial role within a PLC environment, experience in the utilities sector would also be advantageous. Commercially aware, you will be able to relate all activities to their impact on costs, profits, markets and added value and use this to aid decision making. Technically, you will be up to date with accounting standards and the and the impact changes have on the creation of management and PLC accounts.

You'll be able to approach this role with a creative mindset, questioning existing processes and combining this with your problem-solving skills to make systematic judgements based on relevant information. A personable individual, you'll naturally be able to develop working relationships across a variety of stakeholders, ensuring that they reach out to you to utilise your specialist knowledge and skill-set, adding value to their business area.
