A scientific strategic marketing manager is required for an exciting career opportunity with our market leading scientific client based in East Sussex to strategically lead the marketing team through the entire marketing process of their products and brand, develop marketing communications and PR and promote brand awareness. This is a unique marketing role that would suit a life sciences / scientific professional with experience of managing the whole of the marketing process from market research, product design to product launch within scientific areas/ scientific articles or scientific subjects. In return there is a good salary package circa £50k-£60k+ dependant on experience with company benefits including annual company bonus and excellent pension scheme in an established reputable company and the opportunity to travel internationally for market research. This role would suit a scientific product manager professional or a marketing manager who has proven marketing strategy and marketing plans experience. This role requires a passionate scientific professional with a good ability to take overall responsibility for the entire marketing process from the market research and assessment to product launches and company promotion. You will work closely with the R&D Design teams and be speaking directly with scientific customers in labs, universities, hospitals and research facilities so you must have excellent communication skills and be life sciences /physical sciences or neuroscience degree qualified or higher.

The ideal life sciences marketing management candidate will have the following key skills and experiences;

  • Ideally degree qualified in Life Sciences, Physical sciences, Neurosciences or similar sciences (Bsc, Msc) or good qualifications and experience in a scientific subject
  • Strategic marketing experience - experience of planning marketing strategy and marketing plans
  • Experience and ability to manage a marketing team- good motivational team management style
  • Experience / knowledge of Scientific subjects, ideally neuroscience or similar
  • CIM or other marketing qualifications are desirable but not as essential as the experience and scientific qualifications
  • Good experience in a variety of marketing positions such as marketing manager, strategy branding manager, product manager
  • Ability and experience of journalism, video and photography would be desirable

  • Experience in journalism, brand promotion, videography, photography are desirable but not as essential as the scientific qualifications and background
  • Scientific background in electro-physiology, life sciences, physical sciences, complex instrumentation would be of distinct interest

Reporting directly into the Global Head of Sales and working closely with the head of Engineering and R&D, this marketing product manager role will be responsible for the following;
  • Lead the marketing team in marketing communications and PR
  • Position and present new and existing company products within key markets including new product launches
  • Responsible for budgets
  • Market research into new markets worldwide, commercial assessment of these markets and identify market trends with market industry leaders
  • Manage Brand management, Manage product launches, product design aesthetics, conferences, events, exhibitions, product demonstrations, social media and digital presence and branding, advertising and technical content
