Seeking an Assistant Accountant - Cambridge
We have a fantastic opportunity for candidates who are currently studying or have completed their AAT to become part of a friendly accounts team based in Central Cambridge. You will have already gained accounts experience within a professional environment, ideally within a practice but this is not essential.
Start: ASAP
Location: Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
Hours: 8.30am - 17.30pm Monday - Thursday, 8.30am - 17.00pm Friday
Salary: Up to £25,000 (dependent on experience)
The ideal candidate will be either part or fully AAT qualified with an aim to continue with their studies. You will be structure driven with the ability to be responsible for managing a portfolio of accounts. Understanding the importance of meeting deadlines is essential!
Duties:
* Managing a portfolio of up to 50 accounts
* Ensuring annual budgets are accurate and loaded correctly onto the System
* Completing regular billing of ground rents and all service charges
* Recharging Utilities and insurance to leaseholders
* Preparing year end accounts within the timeframe provided so that Accountants can review this before submitting
* Monthly bank reconciliations
* Producing monthly management reports
* Analysing budgets, cashflow and arrears alongside the Manager
* Completing corporation tax administration
* Liaising with leaseholders and handling enquiries via the phone and email
* Attending regular meetings with Estate Managers, Directors and Accountants
* Assisting the Accounting team with any day to day duties
* Ensuring companies polices and procedures are being followed at all times
Skills and Experience Required:
* At least 3 years + accounts experience
* Part or fully qualified AAT, ACCA, ACA or CIMA
* Experience in service charge client account is desirable but not essential
* Use of accounting systems (ideally Qube but it is not essential)
* Strong IT skills, using Word, Excel, Outlook
* Strong numerical skills
* Excellent attention to detail
* Ability to work to own responsibility and within a team
* Excellent time management skills
* Willingness to learn new skills
* Professional and polite telephone manner
