QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER & HEALTH & SAFETY
Location: Melbourn, Royston
Salary range £36,000 to £38,000 depending on experience.
Basic hours 37.50 per week.
We are currently recruiting for a Quality Assurance Manager for our client in Royston.
JOB OUTLINE (Quality Assurance)
The Quality Assurance Manager will report to the Commercial / Operations Director, and will involve responsibility for the Quality Assurance and Health & Safety function, including documenting and auditing quality and H & S systems, procedures, and work instructions. In addition, as we are moving forward to create a fully integrated Quality Assurance system across the business, the roll will also take responsibility for working closely with other senior managers to document the systems within areas such as Sales, Purchasing, Design and Accounts. The roll will also be responsible for setting and monitoring Key Quality & H & S Performance Indicators for the business with a formal reporting structure to the Managing Director and other senior managers, as well as initiating quality improvement programs in all areas.
EDUCATION
Educated HND/HNC, degree level or equivalent in an engineering, production management or procurement discipline. Qualified Internal Auditor/Lead Auditor QMS to IRCA standard or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE (Quality Assurance)
The successful candidate will have a background in light engineering or small batch production, and have extensive experience of implementing quality systems within an engineering based manufacturing company. Experience within the vehicle exhaust or component manufacturing industry would be viewed as a distinct advantage.
The candidate must have extensive experience of ISO 9001:2015 as we currently operate to this standard, coupled with the ability to document systems and procedures across the business in a concise and clear format. The ability to audit all aspect of the quality system and implement route cause corrective action plans where non-conformities are identified (8 D Reports). In addition, experience of quality requirements within the automotive / engineering sector such as PPAPS and Source Released Documentation is essential, given our customer base and quality requirements prior to commencement of production
(Quality Assurance) Candidate with experience of working within the requirements of the Automotive QA standard ISO/TS 16949 will have a distinct advantage as we plan to move towards this standard next year.
The company has introduced QPulse, an Electronic Quality Management System (EQMS). Candidates must have experience of implementing and using an EQMS. Preference will be given to candidates with direct experience of QPulse.
The candidate must possess a good knowledge of Health & Safety systems, procedures and good working practices within a manufacturing environment.
LOCATION
As the position is based at our factory in Royston, Hertfordshire candidates should live within a commutable distance to the factory (Stevenage or Cambridge area).
