We are looking for a Lead / Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a dynamic, highly professional product design company developing state of the art new products by transforming new ideas, design and technology into commercial success, focusing on industrial, energy, life science, transport and consumer industries. As the Lead / Senior Mechanical Engineer you will have an expertise in complex electromechanical, thermal and fluidic analysis and connected devices (IoT)and focus on managing and leading multi-disciplinary teams, solving complex technical problems and developing new products and processes from concepts to realisations.

Lead Mechanical Engineer Requirements

A first or upper second BEng or MEng degree in Engineering from a leading university
Commercial experience in technical consultancy or product development
An enthusiasm for innovation, a passion for mechanical engineering and product and process design
Excellent communication skills, ability to present technical subjects and to negotiate with suppliers
Practical experience in leading projects, teams and technical developments, reviewing the work of other engineers, designers and technologists
Skills in structuring, planning and costing research and engineering projects
A proven track record of project delivery on time and within budgetIdeally, you will have:

Demonstrable engineering experience in machining, assembly or prototyping work.
A hobby or similar external interest with a technical or practical dimension will be an advantage
A keen interest in promoting the company, developing client accounts, and gaining industry sector-specific experienceThe company really is dynamic, fast moving and incredibly successful. Salary: £50000 - £60000 + a performance related bonus and benefits

Location: Cambridgeshire (Commutable from Cambridge, St Neots, Letchworth, Hitchin, Bedford, Huntingdon, etc.)
