Here at Human Appeal we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Finance Officer to join our integral Finance Department based in Greater Manchester. You will join us on a full time basis as part of a 1 year fixed term contract and in return you will receive a competitive salary of £23,000 - £26,000 per annum.

Key duties and responsibilities of our Senior Finance Officer:

- Salary of £23-26k per annum, depending on experience

- Preparing and analysing monthly financial reports including cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting, end-of-year financial statements, VAT returns and business tax compliance

- Meeting with internal stakeholder managers to review budgets, assess project finances, and improve existing financial processes

- Contributing to system and process improvements and developing more robust financial controls within the Finance function

- Logging and reviewing supplier invoices, expenses and ad-hoc payment requests for approval prior to payment

- Working with the wider Finance department to ensure an efficient and timely accounts payable month-end closing

- Reconciliation of various bank accounts, supplier accounts and monthly creditor reports

- Ensuring all donations, including online giving income, are processed on the Donor Management and Accounts Management Systems and that Gift Aid is correctly claimed

What we're looking for in our Senior Finance Officer:

- Educated in a Finance discipline, ideally with a Foundation Level Accounting Qualification (AAT; ACCA; CIMA)

- At least 3 years' experience working in a similar role within a Finance function

- Experience of using Microsoft NAV or other Accounting Software Packages

- Knowledge and understanding of Charity SORP Accounting

- Flexible working approach in support of the organisation's objectives

- Highly organised, with an ability to multitask and manage a busy workload

- Demonstrable passion for international development work and humanitarian aid
