Senior Marketing Manager

We are seeking an experienced Marketing Manager with a proven background within the exhibitions and conferences industry. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years hands on events campaign experience behind them (preferably working on the b2b side, but not essential).

Possessing strong strategic vision and have the ability to produce creative and well thoughtout marketing plans utilising the core on and offline marketing channels. The perfect candidate will also have the ability to transform technical copy into compelling and targeted marketing messages that engage event participation and ultimately convert to attendee. They will also possess at least one year's management experience, be confident in putting forward ideas to all levels of the business and contributing to the development of the team.

Needless to say, the Senior Marketing Manager will be results focused, ambitious and always looking for ways to enhance the attendee experience, drive visitor, exhibitor and delegate participation and retention, as well as identify opportunities to grow the event portfolio. Proven experience working cross-departmentally and up and down the organisation confidently, respectfully and enthusiastically is a must. As are exceptional planning, communication and organisational skills.

Working in events, it goes without saying they will be a natural multitasker and calm operator who doesn't get flustered by juggling multiple deadlines, stakeholders, industries and time zones, while staying focused on event targets.

Over and above, we are looking for someone who is a team player who works hard, embraces our unique company culture and has a good sense of humour.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Marketing planning & strategy - writing and managing the delivery of the event marketing strategy and campaign plans
  • Database & audience development - overall responsibility for developing the visitor database with the internal and external database teams, identifying opportunities.
  • Campaign management - responsible for delivering the marketing campaign encompassing online (email, web, ppc, seo, content, social) and offline (direct mail, print, display advertising, radio, billboard) channels, as well as our VIP and B2B matchmaking programmes
  • Strategic partnerships - management of the strategic / media partnership programme, managing acquisition and renewals, evaluating performance and making recommendations for potential partnerships
  • Cost and budget management - cost and budget management of events and justifying marketing spend with ROI analysis
  • Team management - leading, managing and developing a small team of assistants / executives to ensure successful delivery of campaign strategy
  • Messaging and copywriting - it is essential that the candidate possesses strong copywriting skills as they will be responsible for the overall messaging of the events
  • PR & media outreach - management and delivery of PR campaign, engaging media and managing media Db, drafting press releases / media advisories etc
  • Exhibitor marketing - ensuring we are maximising exhibitors as a marketing channel, implementing tactics to increase engagement and measuring effectiveness
  • Reporting and analysis - providing monthly campaign reports and providing recommendations to the marketing team and senior management
  • Project management - manage and oversee marketing projects, cost management
  • On-site responsibilities - managing the onsite marketing function, writing/editing daily newsletter, managing press area, and supporting onsite video content team

Key attributes:
  • 3-5 years marketing experience (exhibitions/conferences experience essential)
  • 1 years' experience of managing one exec
  • Technical and systems experience using email marketing platforms, registration systems, CMS, Salesforce
  • Campaign management experience
  • Experience creating business processes
  • Proven copywriting skills
  • Experience working with suppliers, agencies and sales teams
  • Educated to degree level in business or marketing related subject
