Location: Bristol / Gloucestershire

Rate: £500-550/day

Duration: 3 months rolling

IT Programme Manager - Bristol / Gloucestershire - £550/day

Our Banking client is urgently looking to recruit a IT Programme Manager to lead a essential upgrade of their ATM / IDM estate.

Project brief:
  • Delivery of essential upgrade to ATM/ IDM estate. Within the upgrade, there are a number of different projects which must be delivered, ensuring cost synergies are achieved, with minimal disruption to Customers/Partners. This will require a full understanding of the in-flight changes and proposed strategy. The changes to be delivered will need to ensure security is improved to future proof the estate. The underpinning Infrastructure and Application will need to be thoroughly tested prior to any commencement to pilot and rollout.
  • Support for business for elements which require total replacement, of which could lead to increased functionality within the estate.
  • IT plan must be maintained to deliver the different components, taking a view of the business plan and conflicting priorities
  • Management of several IT suppliers both internal and external.

Role description:
  • Programme/Project Set Up and Closure: Feeds into business study/programme proposals and business cases, ensuring alignment with business while maintaining the IT strategy.
  • Works with the business to agree programme/project IT benefits and to confirm that outputs and outcomes will be achieved.
  • Governance and Reporting: Delivers to an appropriate programme governance structure, with different levels of stakeholder input, to effectively control each project and workstream whilst exercising optimal control at the programme level.
  • Works closely with the Accountable Executive to provide regular status reporting and solutions driven contingency plans.
  • Programme/Project Control and Delivery: Provides a programme control framework aligned with project and programme management processes and methodologies, within which costs, benefits, risks, issues, standards and quality can be measured and within which Project Managers can coordinate their activities.
  • Planning and Finance: Drives progress against the programme plan; understands, challenges and proactively manages the cost position; and acts to mitigate potential cost or time delays.
  • Stakeholder Management: Engages with a diverse group of stakeholders to influence direction of programmes/projects to meet business goals. Typically up to and including Exec level.
  • Internal/External Relationships: Builds and maintains external and internal networks to identify best practice and to build the profile of the PM and change management community.
  • People and Self Development: Contributes to the development and performance of the wider PM community.

Mandatory skills:
  • A programme manager with proven experience delivering technical projects within the Financial Services industry.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills

Desirable skills:
  • Experience delivering IT Security themed programmes
  • ATM / IDM knowledge
  • MS product knowledge

Please note that this requirement is out of scope of IR35 and will involve being based on site 5 days per week.
