IFRS 17 Technical Data Analyst - Insurance Sector, London

*Please note this is initially a 3 month contract with the potential for a much longer extension and experience with regulatory projects within the insurance sector is ESSENTIAL*

A large and global insurance company is looking for an experienced Data Analyst to join its team in London. This role will focus on data driven regulatory projects within the insurance industry, covering Solvency 2, GDPR and IFRS changes. To be considered suitable you will need to have previous insurance experience and strong background in data architectures and best practice data governance.

This IFRS 17 Data Analyst role is paying a day rate of between £400 and £500 based on experience and will initially run for 3 months with the potential to extend much further.

Day to day responsibilities will involve reporting into the IFRS 17 Data and Systems Project Manager and covering the following:
*Gather, understand and document detailed data requirements for IFRS17. Specifically:
oIdentify, analyse, and interpret complex data sets using proven data evaluation techniques - including:

• Defining primary and secondary data sources

• Specifying data processing/conforming requirements (including data enrichment/alignment)

• Locate and suggest alternative data sources for correction of data issues/problems
oWork closely with Finance, Actuarial and IT team leads, process owners, SMEs, developers and data specialists to document data sourcing/processing requirements for IFRS17 data preparation
oProduce technical documentation describing data sourcing requirements, processing and controls
oIdentify and document manual and system controls as required to manage the sourcing of IFRS17 data
*Facilitate provision of requirements to both developers and business staff for downstream development & testing.

To be considered suitable you will need to have experience with the above, as well as:
- Agile and Waterfall knowledge
- Good understanding of finance and insurance processes
- Experience of data delivery within data driven regulatory programme
- Exposure to SQL Server / query development, Excel, Data APIs and Business Intelligence platforms.
