Allocate Software is a leading provider of specialist workforce management software. The group operates mainly in the Healthcare sector but also within commercial sectors including Defence and Maritime under its "Dynama" sub-brand.

Allocate has its group headquarters in UK (Richmond) and operates in several international markets including UK, Sweden, Australia, USA and Macedonia, employing over 400 staff worldwide.

The business, under VC ownership (Hg / Vista), has significant international expansion plans over the next few years both organic and through acquisition.

The Group Financial Accountant role is based within the Finance Operations team, supporting the worldwide Allocate business. The role is responsible for managing a team in Richmond and taking accountability for our general ledger accounting and stat accounting, whilst developing a finance team..

  • Direct Management of the GL team
  • Day to day management of the GL team
  • Ensure monthly stat accounts are published and significant support during audit
  • Recruitment, Management & Development of the GL finance team

Responsibility for overseeing monthly close activities:

Overseeing the following activities but getting involved and completing activities when needed.
  • Management and preparation of all financial reporting and accounting
  • Support to Financial Controller on the day to day adhoc request
  • Ensuring our consolidation is completed and we have good variance analysis for any movement
  • Support to grow and develop the full finance team

  • Assist with VAT, corporation tax and other taxes as instructed.
  • Assist with all other statutory returns to satisfy government requirement - e.g. ONS statistical requests

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must be a fully qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA with experience of consolidation and/or statutory accounts preparation )
  • Desire to manage a team and develop leadership skills
  • Experience in a technical financial accounting role (in practice or industry), with up to date IFRS technical accounting knowledge
  • Experience with completing financial consolidations
  • Experience of using financial systems
  • Ability to review & improve accounting processes and procedures
  • PC literate, particularly in MS Excel
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Motivated & enthusiastic individual with a "can do" attitude
  • Strong attention to detail with an ability to review work quickly and accurately
  • Disciplined and able to work to deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
