Lamonby Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for an Internal Sales Engineer to join our client, a leading Manufacturer based Cheltenham. This is predominately an internal role, with the successful candidate to be based out of their office in Cheltenham at least 90% of the time, although there is the potential for international travel as well to very occasional to clients in the UK when necessary.

As a Internal Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for sales of equipment to new and existing customers. Working directly with customers you will be responsible for the development of the sales enquiry, coordinating with the technical team and closing the sales deal. During the sales cycle, you will lead the project by analysing the enquiry thoroughly and demonstrating the ability to meet and exceed customer requirements.

In return, you will receive a starting salary between £20,000-£30,000 with annual inflation-based increases, a performance bonus subject to hitting targets and enrolment into a company pension scheme.

Role Responsibilities
  • Managing portfolio of global key accounts
  • Developing existing / new accounts
  • Reacting to inbound sales enquiries generated via the internet, trade shows, fairs etc as well as proactively following existing leads and new business development with LinkedIn, Facebook etc
  • Technical presentations and demonstrations of equipment at various tradeshows
  • Work directly with the Technical, Project Management & Engineering teams to share your knowledge and experiences to ultimately improve business and customers' success
  • Client visits as and when necessary to various locations
  • Deal effectively with customer enquiries.
  • Prepare accurate pricing and quotations specific to customer's needs.
  • Apply company's products to meet customer requirements.
  • Provide technical support.
  • Participate constructively in Sales Meetings.
  • Update customer's details onto Company records.

About You

  • Previous Internal Sales experience is essential
  • Technical bias in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Communication skills and conversing skills on all levels
  • CRM System experience is essential
  • Computer literate
  • Will need to work independently as part of a small UK based sales team
  • Must be Self-motivated and adaptable
  • Should be ready to travel overseas and within UK
