The Product Management Team Manager is a key role within The Royal Mint marketing team and is responsible for the development and delivery of the Commemorative Business product strategy and our 3 year innovation plan. You will be involved in new product development through the product life cycle including pricing and packaging to ensure a balanced and profitable product portfolio. This role is for a 12 months Fixed Term Contract basis to cover maternity leave.

Your responsibilities:
  • Responsible for leading, managing and coaching the Product Management Team, owning the Royal Mint product portfolios from cradle to grave through its product lifecycle.
  • Create and implement the product strategy for the Commemorative Business whilst developing the innovative products which compliments the strategy and adds GP value to the annual programme
  • Own the rolling 18 month product road map, and develop the 3 year innovation pipeline which includes new manufacturing techniques, formats and packaging
  • Manage the price, volume and margin mix to maximise the ROI
  • Manage strategic partnerships with associated bodies to add value to the product proposition and to enrich the customer experience
  • Be part of cross-functional collaboration to deliver these objectives

Candidate requirements:
  • Proven experience of developing and implementing multi-dimensional product development programmes within consumer markets is essential.
  • Significant and demonstrable experience in developing consumer products is essential.
  • Record of achievement gained across multiple routes to market is essential.
  • Significant and demonstrable team management experience with proven leadership, coaching and mentoring skills is essential.
  • Evidence of project management skills across multi disciplines/teams is essential.
  • Team player with a high level of energy and personal integrity.
  • An understanding of the Licensing process when developing products is desirable.
