Robert Half Finance & Accounting is currently recruiting on an exclusive and retained basis for a Finance Director to join a highly dynamic and market leading multi-site business based in the Leicestershire area. The business has a turnover in excess of £300 million pounds per year. Due to the location of the business the role is commutable distance from all areas of the midlands including Nottingham, Derby, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire.

The business is well established and has a rich history in its chosen market.

The business is looking for an experience and inspiring leader to join them at an incredibly interesting time. The business is seen as the market leader within its sector and has a strong brand and market representation.

Responsibilities will include leading the finance function which is in excess of 40 staff and developing its monthly reporting functions. You will be leading the business in a more commercially focused method using your existing analytical skills to drive the business forward in all aspects from a commercial point of view using well informed and detailed insight. The role will support the business, managing all aspects of its accounting function from developing its management team through to presenting to the board to working with the chairman on any potential acquisitions that they may make.

The business is profitable and has a strong balance sheet - there is a considerable opportunity to have a significant impact on the business through financial education across the company, improving the financial and reporting processes and developing the business through commercial insight. You will also work closely with the property, marketing, digital, sales, HR and the distribution teams to ensure a collaborative and progressive way of working and developing the finance understanding in those business areas

As a leader you will be passionate and insightful and able to take a team on a journey of growth and development. Your experience will include working at a grass roots level through to working with and guiding an executive leadership team. Its highly likely that you will be already operating at Financial Director level and have demonstratable experience of adding value to a large business. The business is looking for someone who actively wants to get involved in the business rather than sitting in a office with a closed door - this is a highly visible role and you will have a hands on approach.

Your CV will clearly demonstrate that you make great decisions and have had a consistent career progression path to date and have experience of leading large teams. The client will only be considering candidates who comes from either a retail, fmcg, distribution or supply chain background. You will be a qualified accountant in either CIMA, ACA or ACCA with a minimum of 5 year post qualified experience.

The business is looking to hire a candidate who is looking for a long term appointment and for a role that will evidently lead to a board member position.

The 1st stage interviews for the role will take place in early September.

The role has a salary range of between £90,000 to £110,000 including a fully expensed quality company car and a generous benefits package.

The salary range/rates of pay is dependent upon your experience, qualifications or training .
