Nelson Permanent Placements are proud to be representing our client who is an award-winning Manufacturing company based in the West Midlands. Our client has gone through astronomical growth over the last few years since been taken over by a large international group. Our client is now looking for an experienced Finance Director who has a wealth of experience managing a finance/accounting department.

To be considered for this role you must be a qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) and have a vast amount of post qualification experience.

It would also be advantageous if you possess experience working within a fast paced manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience of driving improved financial performance and formulation of financial plans and a solid understanding to implement business strategy

  • Supporting General Manager in driving the financial performance of the business, ensuring targets are met for EBITDA, Working Capital and Cash Flow.
  • Maintain pricing, Revenue and gross margin reporting through local system. Commercial support including rebate accruals
  • Review risk in the business and recommend changes, Foreign exchange risk, Credit risk, Letters of credit
  • Responsible for ensuring GAAP compliance (UK GAAP, US GAAP)
  • Responsible for ensuring SOX compliance and Internal Audit controls, DOA and LDM across UK functions
  • Oversee the month end close process (4days) to ensure accurate and timely information is processed to the US Head Office
  • Assist in the preparation of Rolling 12 month forecasts / Budgets and Strat Plans and subsequent reporting packs
  • Management of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and development of staff to improve metrics in these areas
  • Point of contact for External / Internal Auditors and Tax
  • Assist in the preparation of UKGAAP Statutory reporting
  • Ensure accurate Journal Entries & Balance Sheet Reconciliations are maintained
  • Maintain end develop existing ERP system
  • Development of local system to drive business efficiencies and develop labour and overhead reporting.
  • Management of Capital expenditure budgeting / forecasting process and tracking of performance against them
  • Responsibility for maintenance of standard costs and investigation/interpretation of production variances
  • Has responsibility for production of all internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Ensure that the resource, systems and controls in place are sufficiently robust to deliver all current and future reporting requirements.
  • Development of enhanced management reporting to include departmental overhead spend against forecast and budget and customer/product profitability analysis
  • Lead and ensure that the performance of the UK finance team meets both departmental and company objectives
  • Liaise with EY on Tax returns and manage VAT reporting.
  • Local point of contact for Legal, Financial compliance and Property leases to report into Corporate.
  • Monitor cashflow, including forecasting and exposure to foreign currencies
  • Manage the local finance staff and complete HR monthly tasks.
  • Ensure alignment to corporate related initiatives, processes and Core values
  • Hire, develop and retain the best talent in line with corporate OLR (Organizational Leadership Review) process


·Qualified accountant

·GCSE or equivalent

·Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting or related field. CPA preferred.

·Typically requires a minimum of five years business related experience

·Effective written and verbal communication skills.

·Ability to work as part of a team or on your own initiative.

·Excellent interpersonal skills

·Degree or A Level Educated

·Full Driving license

·Ability to demonstrate influencing skills
