Currie & Brown is currently looking for a risk manager/senior risk manager to support our team in London. This is an opportunity to join a small, dynamic, growing team working in construction, infrastructure and business change projects and programmes.

We work with leading clients in a wide variety of sectors including health, retail, education, infrastructure and defence. We deliver risk management support throughout the project lifecycle as well as being involved in programme, portfolio and corporate risk management. Typically, we work on high-profile interventions and strategic commissions with risk managers dedicated to several assignments at the same time rather than undertaking long-term secondments.

The role requires motivated, skilled and experienced risk managers who want to progress their career and gain invaluable experience in varying environments and with high-profile clients. The successful candidate will be involved in a diverse mix of projects and will be able to develop risk management solutions and build client relationships.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Delivering risk management services in a wide range of sectors in the construction industry
  • Facilitating risk workshops with design teams and other stakeholders
  • Providing bespoke risk management interventions throughout the project lifecycle including supporting investment decisions and delivery/implementation phases - from developing programme-wide risk management strategies to carrying out quantitative cost and schedule risk analysis (QCRA and QSRA)
  • Taking ownership of the quality and commercial delivery of your work
  • Identifying and contributing to business development opportunities
  • Developing industry-leading risk management tools
  • Gaining buy-in from project teams through stakeholder engagement and client meetings
  • Representing the company in a professional and diligent manner; meeting and corresponding with clients to form strong working relationships

Requirements:
  • A minimum of two years' risk management experience
  • Risk management qualification, eg IRM International Certificate, APM Risk Certificate, Axelos M_o_R, or working towards one of these
  • PRINCE2, MSP, APMP, or other professional qualifications desirable
  • Good technical writing, client-facing and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Experience in running both QCRA and QSRAs beneficial
  • Experience using tools such as @Risk, Primavera Risk Analysis (previously Pertmaster), Active Risk Manager (ARM), Predict!
  • Awareness of value management interventions and processes
  • Ability to identify, interpret and follow written guidance, processes and best practice
  • Proactive, keen to learn and dynamic, capable of delivering to plan and reacting flexibly to changing circumstances
  • Ability to work in teams and network, as well as work on your own initiative
  • Ability to apply a structured approach to problem solving within a complex project environment
  • Ability to work to deadlines, delivering all work outputs in an accurate and timely manner
  • Experience of building strong and lasting relationships at all levels and influencing the attitudes and opinions of others
  • Ability to introduce innovative approaches that can be used to improve performance, reduce costs, increase quality and improve business processes, and provide clear rationale and supporting data to justify solutions
