The Company is an exciting and inspiring company to work for, where investment in their people's skills and knowledge is integral to their success. They ensure a supportive and inclusive working environment which is underpinned by their culture of expertise, safety and trust. If you are looking for a dynamic and exciting workplace that provides a great team environment, where you can contribute to making a real difference, the company is the place for you.

Plastic is a fantastic material but at the end of its life only 10% is recycled - the rest is burnt, buried or lost into the environment. They are changing the story of plastics by enabling more plastic waste to be recycled into valuable resources, thereby keeping plastics in the circular economy and out of their oceans.

They have developed a modular machine to chemically recycle plastic waste back into a valuable petroleum raw material, for use as a feedstock in new plastics production, waxes and fuels. Using a chemical approach to recycling, no plastic gets left behind. Using a modular approach to process design, they harness the power of mass production to scale up quickly and cost effectively.

Job Purpose:

They are looking for a Plant Maintenance and Engineering Manager to work in the Operations Management Team accountable for plant reliability and coordinating the safe execution of both planned and reactive engineering change.

Their BETA Plant is a quasi-commercial scale operating site, a test bed for the development of their technologies and processes, an operational plant where product development and production trials are undertaken, a technology showcase that they will use to demonstrate their technologies to clients, investors, regulatory authorities and other key stakeholders and a technology knowledge transfer and training centre, somewhere they will bring engineering, operations and manufacturing teams and new starters for training and the sharing of best practice.

The successful candidate will be working within a small close-knit team looking after and running their Beta Plant. The role will involve getting hands on, whether it's fixing a pump, wiring a panel or teaching one of the team how to drill a hole.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a CMMS supported RCM based maintenance management system
  • Identify and then develop the Servicing and Maintenance training programme for Site Technical Operators including content, qualification, manuals, lessons and materials. • You will own the areas of:
    • Reliability
    • Total cost of Maintenance - Parts, spares, consumables and contracted services
    • On time delivery of engineering change
  • Whilst the plant is still in development the engineering change agenda will be owned by the Technical Director and the Engineering Team. During this phase you will work closely with that team to translate their intent into safely executable and digestible projects
  • Once the BETA plant is considered to be in "Business as Usual Mode", fully developed then the BETA Plant Maintenance and Engineering Manager will, along with the UK Cluster Manager, be responsible for developing and delivering asset improvement within the "current specification"

Key Requirements:

  • Broad, hands-on, experience in Electro-Mechanical maintenance.
  • Experience in a continuous process manufacturing/operational environment
  • Team leadership experience
  • Lean manufacturing, problem solving and Kaizen management systems
  • TPM / RCM supported by CMMS
