Job Title: Marketing Assistant

Reporting to: Corporate Communications

General Duties:

* Help to promote the corporate profile and image at all times.

* Assist with maintaining marketing strategies and activities which meet agreed company objectives.

* Raising purchase orders for approval by the relevant senior members of staff.

* General support to your Line Manager, to assist in handling the high volume of internal and external communications that are necessary.

* Any other reasonable duties as occasionally required to support the Marketing function.

* The role is office based, although some international travel may be required to visit exhibitions, gain knowledge of the market, our products and our customer base.

Exhibitions & Events:

* Regular communication with organisers to agree details and costs

* Working with the shipping department to arrange shipments to and from exhibitions

* Completion of event order forms and booking of services such as electricity supply, cleaning, catering etc.

* Ordering of display model lamps in good time; ordering of brochures and sundry items

* Researching and booking hotels and travel arrangements. We have support from our travel office in this regard, however it is sometimes more efficient to expedite bookings ourselves, having collected all necessary information

* Following exhibition manuals to ensure all aspects are completed and keeping a database checklist to manage this

Website & Digital Marketing:

* Regularly updating the website content such as product information, distributor information, vacancies and news, from content provided.

* Clearly and accurately brief external digital marketing agencies where more major design and content changes to the website are required.

* Support with any preparation, input and administration relating to website overhaul and relaunches.

* Supporting communication with our digital marketing agency on Google search and ad campaigns, LinkedIn video campaigns etc., to ensure they are always doing their best for us.

* Assist with the management of our YouTube, LinkedIn, Mailchimp and other digital marketing platforms, ensuring content is first class for SEO.

Press Office & Distributor Support:

* Assist your Line Manager in the dissemination of press releases and articles to the broadest possible audience.

* Follow up press contacts by telephone and e-mail to optimise the publication of releases.

* Monitor and diarise all relevant editorial features to ensure that we submit relevant content, on time.

* Ensure that all press requests are dealt with promptly and fully.

* Maintain an accurate press contact database and build upon it wherever possible.

* Working with the technical press, to place advertisement copy, editorial and technical articles.

* Ensure that the advertising schedule is adhered to and all ad copy is sent within deadline; adverts often require tailoring, which requires good time planning.

* Handle distributor requests, usually for images, logos and texts. Issue brand guidelines and ensuring that these are adhered to.

* Support distributors for exhibitions: sending loan lamps, brochures and other sales information.

* Pro-actively disseminate information to distributors, OEMs and Sales Managers (e.g. new product information), through SharePoint and our CRM system.

Hours of work & remuneration

Salary: £24,000 - £27,000.

Minimum hours of work: 08:45 - 17:15 Monday - Friday.

Private healthcare and increased pension contributions after further qualifying period (2-3 years)

33 days holiday, including UK Bank holidays.

After long service holiday increases further.

Essential Qualifications / Skills:

Minimum qualification: A level (or equivalent).

An excellent communicator with a good standard of both verbal and written English.

Interest and ability to understand and learn the technical properties/data about the product range.

A well organised and methodical multi-tasker with a meticulous eye for detail, being able to work and respond well under pressure.

Fully computer literate, including CRM database aptitude.

Previous experience and understanding of Google Analytics and AdWords campaigns.

A motivated, results-driven self-starter who can close out projects in a timely manner.

A determined progress-chaser, adept at driving projects forward.

Must be free to travel worldwide with no restrictions, on occasion.

Must speak clear fluent technical English.

Beneficial Qualifications / Skills:

Degree qualified (preferably within a Marketing or English Language discipline).

Experience within a website content management system (we use WordPress).

Confident with their ability within Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.

Up to Intermediate level Excel skills.
