Transport Administrator

We are currently recruiting for Transport Administrator roles in Northampton.

Reporting to the Transport Team Leader/Supervisor, the role is to ensure that all activities undertaken on behalf of our customers are carried out safely and meet all Customer and Logistics Group requirements.

The role of the Transport Administrator involves:
  • Ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the operation
  • Maintaining all disciplines including drivers hour's legislation, delivery performance, fleet management, tachograph management, Health & Safety, payroll, HR management
  • KPI reporting and ensuring high levels of accuracy
  • Communication with the customer, suppliers and sub-contractors
  • Working closely with drivers and colleagues within other areas of the operation.
  • Ensuring that relevant legislation and directives are met accordingly
  • Adherence to the operational pack

As a Transport Administrator you will need to have:
  • Previous transport experience is essential
  • Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Haulage Management an advantage.
  • Knowledge of computer office programmes i.e. word, excel and outlook.
  • Previous experience with vehicle tracking, scheduling and reporting systems would be advantageous
  • Able to work as part of a team and values the development of self and others
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Must be self-motivated, dedicated & able to use own initiative
  • Flexible approach along with a belief that 'everything is possible'
  • Completes tasks within agreed timescales.
  • An open, direct and honest attitude at all times is a must.
  • Able to maintain integrity within a pressurised and time critical environment.
  • Understand the value and importance of service delivery within operational, legal and financial constraints.

Available shifts as a Transport Administrator:
  • The site operates a 24/7, 12 hour shift pattern worked on a 4 on 4 off shift basis

How much do we pay?
  • Day shift - £13.24
  • Nights - £14.69.
