I am currently recruiting a Financial Operations Accountant on a Fixed Term basis. This is working for an innovative, luxury fashion personal shopping and commerce business. Through social and chat-based media, they inspire the international client base to discover the rarest and most desirable luxury items.

My client is a luxury retail company based in East London. They were established couple of years ago and since have grown consistently year on year. They are the Tech City's Future Fifty programme which recognises some of the UK's fastest growing businesses.

They are now looking to hire a Financial Operations Accountant on a fixed term basis. This will be an initial temporary assignment for 6 months. The role will be based in their offices in London.

Financial Operations Accountant, East London

Roles and Duties:

As a 'Financial Operations Accountant' you'll be reporting into the FinOps Manager. You will be a core member of the FinOps team - collectively responsible for the data entry, monitoring and review of transactions across both accounts receivable (sales orders) and accounts payable (purchase orders and bill processing and bank/credit card reconciliation).

You will be a key link in liaising between the Personal Shopping, Finance, and Operations teams, requiring you to build a strong understanding of the sales process and client needs, alongside establishing an understanding of the purchasing and dispatch processes.

You will be expected to flag any challenges so that the team can continuously improve workflows and ensure that processes are operating efficiently.
  • Assisting with completing Balance Sheet reconciliations and resolving issues in the following areas:
  • Inventory
  • GRNI/GINR/Returns
  • Trade Debtors/Customer Deposits
  • Bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Inter-company
  • Regular reporting, including:
  • Outstanding items on bank/credit card reconciliation by team member
  • Missing VAT receipts by team member
  • Supporting the FinOps team with resolving issues processing invoices/returns for inventory purchases
  • Any other ad hoc, role-related duties as deemed appropriate

Profile

The successful candidate MUST be immediately available and can interview / start at short notice.
  • They must also have 3 years working knowledge of the roles and duties above.
  • ERP system experience (pref Netsuite but not essential) from a company that holds inventory/physical goods
  • Knowledge of UK VAT rules and exports
  • Proficient in Excel and Google sheets
  • This is an exciting opportunity for a part qualified accountant (AAT/CIMA/ACCA) with good technical and operational knowledge, or an experienced accountant with strong financial skills.
  • Analytical approach to solving problems and improving processes
  • Commercially astute and willing to challenge sales team

Working hours are 9am - 6pm, 5 days a week Monday - Friday. You may be required to work overtime at your manager's discretion.

Job Offer

The successful candidate will be paid between £15-20 per hour depending on experience.
