An opportunity has arisen at the Featherstone plant for an electrical biased multi skilled maintenance technician who reports to the Engineering Team Leader.

Reporting directly to the Engineering Team Leader the successful applicant will be expected to be Health and Safety motivated with a hands-on and proactive approach to maintenance. In addition to, experience of minimizing downtime of machines, increasing productivity, efficiencies and reduction in costs. You should be prepared to be involved in all aspects of team work.

The successful candidate must be prepared to work shifts and have a flexible approach to shift working, as well as be able to work on their own initiative.

Key duties of an Engineering Technician:

·Be able to respond to breakdowns both electrical and mechanical quickly and efficiently and implement solutions to prevent reoccurrence

·Be able to undertake planned preventative & predictive maintenance practices

·To perform Breakdown Analysis to eliminate Breakdowns and implement 100yr fix

·To support & develop Operators to Implement Autonomous Maintenance Methodologies

·To help develop & implement Professional Maintenance methodologies

·Be able to communicate with colleagues at all levels

·Basic pc knowledge to enable management of tooling schedules

·Good Organisational skills to enable efficient working practices through understanding and implementation of 5s Principles

·To respect your colleagues & peers at all times, be able to admit mistakes without consequence, be responsible, have pride in the work you do and be accountable

·To apply knowledge and drive for cost reduction through application of TPM methodologies

·To implement problem solving techniques to drive for performance & cost reduction

·To implement solutions for waste reduction through application of TPM tools & techniques

What we would like our candidate to have:

The essentials:

·Educated to O.N.C. standard or above

·Pro-active approach to Health and Safety

·Have a good understanding of electrical disciplines including fault finding on PLCs, AC, DC Drive systems and electrical safety systems

·Good Understanding of Siemens S5 & S7 programs, Inverter control systems etc.

·Good Understanding of Mechanical disciplines including fault finding techniques, Bearings, Gears & Gearboxes, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Transmission drives including Belts, Chains etc. Keys & keyways, couplings etc.

·Good understanding of Lubrication management application & implementation is required

·Good understanding of workshop skills to include - Turning, Milling, Welding, Fabrication etc

·Essential knowledge of TPM & WCM principles covering PM, AM, FI, TD & EEM.

·Essential application of problem solving techniques - PDCA, DMAIC, Factor tree, 12 & 14 step Kaizen, Work point analysis etc

·Good understanding of process control, Centre lining

·A good understanding of Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
