The Role

Applications are invited from individuals with the relevant qualities & experience to fill the position of Port Terminal Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive self-starter to join a well-established but growing business, with the potential to quickly take on responsibility and grow within the organisation.

The role would possibly be suited to experienced port, logistics, warehouse or construction site managers. Port or heavy lift experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.

The port operates on a 24/7 basis and although working primarily on day shifts, the successful candidate would need to work flexibly on occasion to suit the needs of the business.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Port Terminal Manager will be a key member of the Operations department team involved in all aspects of port operations including the receipt, storage and distribution of cargo by rail, sea or road. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily terminal activities involving vessel discharge /loading, the operations of cranes and other heavy plant and the movement of goods through port warehouses. You will also be responsible for labour organisation, administration and working with a team of supervisors and port workers to ensure all operations are undertaken safely and efficiently to customer requirements.
