Acorn is recruiting on behalf of a client, a leading infrastructure company based in the heart of Cardiff City Centre that is undergoing a huge transformation of services.

The company is searching for an experienced Category Manager to help lead and manage the Procurement activities and negotiate contracts for goods and services in IT, Retail and Commercial.

As a Procurement Manager, you will provide a service to all of the business for purchasing products and services and advising / arranging income contracts. You will be required to negotiate contracts for goods and services and to develop Procurement strategies that will maximise business efficiency and deliver value for money.

Duties and accountability:

- Category management & Sourcing - develop one, three and five year category plans.
- Team Development - develop the team into a high performing function.
- Sourcing - lead sourcing strategies to achieve annual savings.
- Supplier Relationship Management - accountable for managing relationships with
key suppliers.
- Driving Innovation -generating an agreed number of new process
improvement possibilities.
- Demand management - reviewing category spend on a monthly basis and investigating
high spend.

The ideal candidate:

- Good educational standard.
- Full membership of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply.
- Category management and category strategy development
- Knowledge of IT systems.


- Paying a basic salary of between £45,000 - £50,000.
- Monday to Friday working hours.
