Service Engineer: An experienced Service Engineer is required to join a growing Technical Services team of a leading provider of janitorial and nursing consumables and equipment to the care industry to cover the East Anglia region.

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager the Service Engineer will join one of the largest care sector specialists in the UK, providing consumables, medical equipment, furniture and fit-out services.

The ideal candidate will have a flexible can-do attitude, be positive and outgoing, and have experience of working within a field-based engineering team with knowledge of the care sector.

  • Servicing and repair for a range of healthcare products including hoists, beds, mattresses and scales within a geographically defined area
  • Performing routine maintenance of equipment to manufacturer recommendations together with relevant safety testing
  • Addressing the technical needs of the customer by email and phone
  • Installation and deinstallation of equipment to support the company's sales strategy
  • Working within strict health and safety criteria
  • Accurate record keeping and completion of service reports within the company's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. Completion of all other service documentation as required
  • Management of spare parts required to perform their daily work
  • Ensure work vehicle is maintained as per company policy
  • Representing the company in a professional manner
  • Providing technical support to the Sales & Marketing team
  • Flexible approach to working out of hours in emergency situations
  • Willingness to travel out of their designated area to support service team activities

Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum City & Guild Level 3 or Ordinary National Certificate in an engineering discipline
  • Minimum 3-year experience in engineering-based field service role
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office applications
  • User of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
  • Higher National Certificate in Engineering (desirable)
  • IT literacy qualification (desirable)
  • Time served apprenticeship (desirable)
  • Previous experience in the healthcare industry (desirable)
  • Understanding of sales cycle (desirable)
  • LOLER testing certified (desirable)
  • Weights & Measures certified (desirable)
  • Customer orientated, and possess great communication skills when working with customers and colleagues
  • Sensitivity for their working environment
  • Excellent planning and organising skills
