Our client has a fantastic opportunity for a Works Manager to join their world leading company. This is an exciting time to become part of the team, as they continue to grow.

Established for over 40 years, they are a premier manufacturer for the oil, gas and petrochemical industry - their valves are sold in over fifty countries - with a turnover of over £50 million.

Due to recent growth within the company, there is now a requirement for a Works Manager to join the team in Knutsford. You will work alongside the Supplier Manager in ensuring the Manufacturing Process runs efficiently and to meet order deadlines.

The successful Works Manager must have the ability to be proactive and use your own initiative, also with effective skills in negotiation and persuasion. You would need to take ownership of projects, delivering them to completion and strive to become a leader whose example encourages personnel to adopt a similar go-getting attitude. Experience with assembling machined components would be advantageous.

Skills & Experience Required:

- Establishing daily targets for team leaders to satisfy the overall production plan
- Monitoring target progress continuously to identify early drift from daily goals
- Identifying priority production line items and see through to completion
- Ensuring all sections have sufficient resources (people, tools, etc.)
- Ensuring shop floor documentation is completed accurately
- Ensuring all production personnel are trained according to their job functions
- Adopting a proactive approach to quality i.e. 'right first time' attitude to all aspects of work
- Developing section leaders to take full 'ownership' of the role
- Creating a safe working environment
- Reporting on all manufacturing difficulties to management
- A minimum three years working in an Engineering / Manufacturing environment.
- Experience of managing people within a production role.
- Experience of working within a quality controlled environment.
