retailTRUST is the oldest Trade Charity in the UK and was founded in 1832 by the appropriately named Thomas Helps, a successful London Merchant. Today, we support the 4.5 million people employed in retail and associated services and pride ourselves on helping people through provision of wellbeing services to proactively support people's physical, emotional, financial and vocational needs.

We provide a suite of career development services to help retail businesses recruit and develop their employees. This includes our recent successful application to become an apprenticeship end-point assessment organisation.

As part of our development of services in this area, we are seeking to appoint dedicated retail professionals from across England to join our team as Freelance End Point Assessors. You will be provided with full training and the tools to apply your industry expertise, knowledge and experience.

Some of the main duties include, but are not limited to:

* Conducting End Point Assessments for apprentices against specific standards and assessment plans in the workplace.

* Accurately recording and reporting EPA activities using the set systems and processes.

* Providing feedback, advice and support on EPA.

* Participating in standardisation activities to ensure a consistent approach to the delivery of EPA.

* Maintaining knowledge and familiarity with relevant retail apprenticeship standards and retailTRUST's EPA policies and procedures.

You will be home based, but working in the field and supported by our expert, professional team. You'll work with apprentices and their employers to plan End Point Assessments, agreeing a schedule and completing planned assessments. You'll also mark in line with grading criteria and determine the overall grade for the apprentice.

Essential elements of the role include:

* Up to date (ideally within last 3 years) demonstrable occupational retail sector experience and competence at or above the level of the occupation, sector area or standard being assessed.

* Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.

* Capable of making sound evidence-based judgements against set criteria.

* IT proficiency with experience of a range of software packages including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

* Good organisational, planning and time-management skills.

* Commitment to ongoing CPD and maintaining records of activities.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to write reports.

Whilst full training will be provided, relevant assessor qualification (D32/D33 or A1 or Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment or Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement) is desirable, along with excellent observation, questioning, listening and analytical skills.

This is a freelance role and you must be willing to travel within a reasonable distance and feel comfortable with working remotely and independently.
