Financial Accountant - FTC 3 Months, Romford 50k-55k

I have a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced Financial Accountant to join a growing company based in Romford. This is initially a 3 month FTC.

The main purpose of this role will be providing support to the FD and ensuring compliance with all statutory accounting, corporate tax, income tax and VAT regulations.

Main duties will involve:
  • Operate the General Ledger ensuring the integrity of financial transactions and compliance with all statutory accounting and tax requirements
  • Manage and proactively suggest improvements to the month end close process including preparation of accruals, correcting journals and prepayments
  • Prepare monthly financial schedules including Profit & Loss account, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow for all currencies
  • Ensure accurate and timely VAT, Intrastat and EU Sales Returns
  • Implement Making Tax Digital VAT reporting
  • Prepare the monthly payroll in a timely and accurate manner ensuring compliance with all income tax regulations
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations
  • Manage the fixed asset register including additions and disposals
  • Liaison with HMRC as required to ensure compliance with all regulations
  • Document all processes and proactively identify process improvement opportunities
  • Implement cash flow forecasting
  • Determine and advise on financial accounting best practice and ensure compliance with all accounting policies and regulations
  • Any other activities commensurate with the general level of responsibility of the position as may be requested from time to time

Person specification:
  • Qualified accountant
  • FRS 102 and in particular the appropriate treatment for foreign currency transactions
  • Excellent working knowledge of UK accounting standards and their commercial application
  • Working knowledge of VAT, Intrastat, Income Tax, PAYE and Corporation Tax
  • Good working knowledge of pensions regulations
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel functionality

50k-55k salary dependant on experience
Must be available to begin work immediately
