Oxford Flow require a Field Operations Engineer to assist in assembling, deploying and commissioning our technology in the UK and abroad in water and gas distribution networks, as well as educating and managing customers in adopting new and exciting technologies.
The role will be responsible for the hands-on installation and commissioning of Oxford Flow equipment in the field, providing technical support to all customers and responding to any operational issues by potentially attending sites throughout the world.
The Field Operations Engineer will primarily be responsible for:
• Deploying, installing and commissioning Oxford Flow valves in customer facilities and networks to an extremely high level of quality and diligence.
• Maintaining a high standard of H&S in the field
• Provide support and technical assistance to customers in accordance with Oxford Flow's reputation for customer service.
• Service and maintain Oxford Flow technology in the field.
• Produce regular reports evaluating technology performance.
• Assisting the Production team in assembling high quality products to meet customer orders.
• Supporting safe working in workshop areas and support any H&S improvement. Helping to maintain a tidy workshop environment.
• Supporting Final Verification activity including Factory Acceptance Testing and carrying out pressure testing and reporting.
• Supporting Assembly staff with packaging and shipping activity, maintaining packaging material stock levels.
Skills and Experience
This position will suit a candidate with an engineering qualification or with comparable relevant experience. As a small manufacturing company, staff at Oxford Flow are proactive, enjoy working with others, accepting of challenging targets and are comfortable adapting to new tasks
The successful candidate will have:
• Hold a Level 4 / HND engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience of pressure reducing valves or similar technologies
• Understand mechanical production processes and quality management.
• Knowledge of engineering workshop practices to ensure a safe working environment.
• Proven, practical experience in mechanical maintenance and servicing of complex assemblies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc.)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• A positive attitude to complex and challenging situations.
• Self-motivated and effective with strong problem-solving skills applied to practical situations.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team or individually.
• Full, clean UK driving licence.
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally, often at short notice.
In addition, it would be advantageous if the candidate has:
• Experience of UK water and/or oil and gas industry and standard operating procedures
• The desire to not be limited by the job description and contribute to other company tasks when necessary
