Account Manager

Field based - Recovered Paper


40 hours per week, between 8.30am - 6pm, Monday - Friday

From £35,000 - Negotiable, plus car allowance, plus bonus

The Account Manager is responsible for the ongoing procurement of high-quality raw materials (recovered paper) to be exported to our clients in the Far East. To this extent, he/she maintains and grows the commercial relationship with existing suppliers and develops new procurement opportunities in the UK market. Being able to work independently and sharing market knowledge is essential for the role of the Account Manager. The Account Manager will be part of the marketing team and reports directly to the President.

Communicate with and maintain positive relationships with all internal and external persons
Giving feedback on efficiency within internal processes and external markets and suggesting possible improvements
Complete and communicate New Supplier Profiles
Market development - search for new procurement opportunities within his/her assigned region
Material procurement - purchase qualified material to meet his/her specified volume targets
Purchase Order management - coordinate entire PO process to ensure effective execution and delivery of material
Balance costs of procurement in line with Market and company requirements
Purchase material within/below guide-line pricing and meet/exceed all targets with respect to extra cost compensation
Day to day Account Management of supplier base
Undertake desk-based research to identify potential new suppliers
Negotiate price/quantity for new PO's
Communicate POWUs + raise new PO's on SAP
Track/coordinate PO last shipment dates
Revise and communicate PO's where required
Assess, communicate and negotiate quality claims
Liaise with Buyers on supplier orders
Market intelligence - provide ongoing, relevant market intelligence (both ad hoc and via structural communication channels such as Daily Marketing Call and Daily Marketing Report, Monthly Market report to management)
Global mindset and cultural sensitivity incorporating our company core values
Ensure responsibility is taken for H&S which impacts on the working areas

What we're looking for:

Approximately 1 - 3 years' experience of working as a field based Account Manager
Experience of working in the recovered paper or paper industry preferred
An understanding of commercial requirements essential
Full/Clean driving license
