About the Role

Contract Officer - This role can be based in either Castle Donington or Warwick. The role will be predominantly based at agreed base location although some travel to other offices and sites may be required.

In this role, you will support the Contract Team Manager with the contractual interface, with one or more of the Delivery Vehicle contractors. Managing the contractor performance and safety against KPI's and working with contractors to develop action plans for increased performance, you will ensure contract compliance and work collaboratively with the contractors and National Grid to achieve the safe and cost effective delivery of the capital plan. As well as providing contract support, advice, guidance and contract management training, you will coordinate and manage contractor interface meetings to drive contractor updates and issues. Carrying out compliance and background audits ensuring contractors records are up to date, you will support the close out of compensation events and support the production of contractor performance surveying and follow up action plans.

With the support of the Health and Safety teams, you will manage contractors'safety performance reporting back trends centrally. You will ensure that appropriate challenges and reviews are being applied to project costs through bench marking and cost assurance activities. Supporting management to ensure commercial, contract and financial processes and procedures are adhered to, and contract compliance through effective contract management activities, you will support the development of appropriate reporting structure to capture cost benefit/efficiencies and ensure consistency of reporting of these across the contract function. You will also need to communicate cost and value analysis internally and externally.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have experience of working in a Contract Management role and/or working with NEC3 (New Engineering Contract) terms and condition and experience of successful multiple project delivery. Knowledge of the Electricity Transmission business would be beneficial. You will have good commercial acumen, including procurement and supply chain experience/knowledge. With the ability to demonstrate initiative, sound judgement and problem solving, you will be required to bring creative and innovative new approaches to the business.

You must have a qualification at HND level (or equivalent) and a full driving licence.
