Main Purpose of the Job:

The main purpose of the role is to provide a peerless technical pension query resolution service, adhering to agreed standards. Through consultative questioning, helping to identify more complex technical Partnership needs and if appropriate refer to a more experienced technician.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately resolve technical pension queries received predominantly via phone, email, ASK, LiveChat and any other digital medium.
  • Support the delivery of core service as required by the operation.
  • Takes personal responsibility for improving own technical knowledge, St. James's Place products/processes/system knowledge as well as service skills
  • Ensures that personal coaching and mentoring needs are proactively raised and resolved with line manager
  • Takes personal responsibility in achieving the quality assurance targets set within the requirements of the QA framework in place
  • Personally, display and evidence adherence to the SJP competency framework and the colleague and customer service charters
  • Maintain professional qualification standards through effective CPD evidencing and recording.
  • Willing contribution to small scale projects within the division.

Required Skills:
  • Must demonstrate good knowledge of all pension products/services/systems offered through completion of internal accreditation licences
  • Can competently convey technical pension related information through calls/email/Techlink and any other digital medium to ensure comprehension by intended audience
  • Ability to apply consultative questioning techniques to analyse the full extent of technical query and provide the appropriate answer
  • Qualified to Level 4 QCF or equivalent eg. Cii Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced technical query resolution environment - with high quality standards and deadlines
  • Awareness of industry changes that may impact the support given to the Partnership
