Reed Accountancy Brighton are working with a well known and established accountancy practice in Hove as they search for an experienced Bookkeeper to join the team.

Key Duties:

- Onboarding new clients and designing the best systems for their business

- Ideally min 2 years experience of managing a bookkeeping function - e.g. sales ledger, maintaining accounts, verifying and posting transactions, bank reconciliation, reconciling control accounts on the balance sheet, balancing accounts, recording client assets, managing client invoices & payments, liaising with clients, suppliers and banking contacts, production of management accounts.

- Experience of preparing VAT Returns.

- Highly organised. Works in a logical and methodical, time efficient and accurate way. Meticulous attention to detail is essential.

Person Spec:

- Highly computer literate with experience of accounting packages and Excel. Experience of using Xero online accounting software and/ or Receipt Bank an advantage

- Relevant qualifications such as AAT an advantage. However, relevant career history and technical skill set providing strong bookkeeping experience is paramount.

- Applicants with a background working within the accountancy practice sector, will be of high interest. Alongside this, a background in commerce and industry, with good transferable skills to deal with wide ranging clients and adding value, supporting them, in a client facing capacity will also be considered.
