Job; Snr Bookkeeper / Executive Assistant - REMOTE

This role is to work for a successful and widely respected serial entrepreneur who has an extensive and ever-expanding business portfolio. This is a newly created 'hybrid' Snr Bookkeeper/Assistant position to report directly to the entrepreneur, working across all his companies. The role is varied and dynamic and the candidate must have a "can do" and "sleeves rolled up" attitude blending predominately Bookkeeping with occasional EA duties.

Some of the responsibilities are (but not limited to);
  • To undertake computerised and manual book-keeping - including accounts file setup, income review and reconciliation, purchase ledger review and reconciliation, nominal ledger review and reconciliation, bank reconciliation, overall expenditure review, extended trial balance preparation, drafting basic accounts from existing trial balances, arranging audit of files prepared and liaising with external auditors as necessary, assist in the preparation of client groups VAT returns and partial exemption calculations where necessary.
  • Understand the meaning of the numbers and make proactive suggestions for increasing company profits,
  • Look at saving costs to enable better company efficiency,
  • Maintain "key financial dates" of UK and US filing for all companies in the portfolio,
  • Must love and understand data with the ability to look at it, make assumptions which will enable company growth,
  • Liaise with outside Accountancy companies,
  • Occasionally acting in an Executive Assistant capacity to the Entrepreneur in non-Bookkeeper related activities,

Key Skill Requirements;
  • Bookkeeping experience (essential),
  • Either already have or be working towards CIMA (essential),
  • You will have worked for an entrepreneur (essential),
  • Willingness to act in an Executive Assistant capacity to the Entrepreneur in non-Bookkeeper related activities (essential),
  • You will be asked to work alongside and support other areas within the business portfolio in various capacities - be that supporting the strategic operations or looking at existing operational practices and add insights to increasing company effectiveness and results,
  • Somebody who both understands and loves numbers,
  • Somebody who loves data with the ability to make assumptions from what they are reading,
  • Somebody who can clearly articulate financial information in a concise and meaningful manner,
  • Somebody with a skill for financial modelling and business analysis,
  • Tax knowledge of USA is an advantage but not essential,

  • £'s; fully DoE up to approx. £35k (neg.) + benefits
  • Location; based from your home / remotely with occasional meetings in & around London,
