You will be working closely with engineering, manufacturing and marketing teams globally, with the opportunity for building mulit-cultral relationships as well as enjoying diversity of working environments.

This role will suit someone who is passionate about engineering, safety and explosion-protection, and who seeks to develop future methods and strategies ensuring our products remain class-leading in terms of performance and safety.

The role

Coordination of the international activities of the Division in the field of explosion protection (ATEX Directive, IECEx, NEC etc).
Support of all development sites and product brands of IV in the preparation of protection concepts as well as in the certification of products
Leading role in the preparation of mechanical and electrical explosion protection concepts
Cooperation in development projects related to explosion protection
Close cooperation with the development departments with regards to the relevant international standards and the resulting requirements for Ex approvals

Internal information and training events in the field of explosion protection
Creation and maintenance of technical documentation and filing in the PLM system and with relevant third parties
Responsibility for development and implementation of product QA strategy from an explosion protection perspective
Organise and conduct ATEX audits
Selection and support of service providers and test centres
Cooperation with external experts, notified bodies and standards committees to drive future explosion protection strategies and standards from a vacuum equipment perspective
Technical negotiations with authorities and test centres at home and abroad
Technical support for marketing, application development and sales
Support in ATEX certification of IV's Product Companies

Skills and experience

Completed studies (Bachelor, Master or Diploma) in technical subjects such as mechanical, chemical, process, safety, electrical engineering, physics, mechatronics
Experience in explosion protection (minimum ATEX directive, other global schemes an advantage)
Experience and working knowledge of explosion protection standards
Knowledge of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and general product legislation e.g CE compliance
Knowledge of rotating machinery such as vacuum pumps, pumps, compressors, engines, motors
Very good English language level (spoken and written). German language a strong advantage
