The school require a Graduate Learning Support Assistant that can engage with pupils on an individual and group basis. Fulfilling this role, you will be expected to prepare and deliver various academic and pastoral activities to young people who demonstrate challenging behaviour, due to their background or other environmental factors. In addition to this, you will be monitoring students' attendance and behaviour, as well as progress and attainment in your sessions. You will be working alongside experienced teachers and pastoral staff, whilst providing the support the students need to improve their engagement and attainment.

This role will require you to work closely with the SENCO, in order to plan, implement and deliver focused strategies to improve progress amongst a vulnerable group of students. You will need to be resilient and forward-thinking, with a can do attitude to succeed in this role.

This position would suit an individual who has suitable experience working with young people exhibiting potential behavioural and emotional issues and somebody who may have a Psychology degree with a sound theoretical understanding of patterns in behaviour. You will need to have a minimum of a 2:1 degree, and a Russell Group university is highly desirable, as well as strong A Levels. Although experience is not essential, it is desirable that you have some transferable experience and portray a passion to make a difference.

The school is situated in Solihull is easily accessible from the Birmingham area. The Head Teacher and other members of the staff are committed to the training of graduates they join their school, in order to retain them on their teacher training programme and feel confident to become exceptional teachers/ support staff.
