Elevate, in partnership with Reed Smith, have an exciting opportunity for a **Real Estate Team Leader** with at least 5 years relevant experience to be part of their new Leeds office.

Reed Smith's real estate lawyers have substantial capabilities working across all aspects of real estate. The team advise on all mainstream aspects of commercial property including investment acquisitions and disposals, development, landlord and tenant, corporate real estate and general day to day management of large property portfolios. They combine great technical excellence and experience with an in-depth knowledge of their clients.

The successful candidate will join the newly established and high performing Leeds office. You will lead and coordinate a rapidly growing Real Estate Paralegal team, ensuring Reed Smith continue to deliver a world class service to their clients.

**Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:**

- Supervise legal teams managing their own files with day to day management work e.g. Leases, licences to assign, sublet and alter, etc.
- Acting on the sale and purchase of real estate either as part of a team or individually.
- File opening, file management and invoicing.
- Researching points of law and other factual issues, through the use of databases and other appropriate sources.
- Provide back up support to the wider department in the project management of larger Real Estate transactions.
- Assisting with ad hoc administrative and legal tasks under instruction.
- Lead a legal team to ensure efficient practices.
- Create cost estimates and timeline forecasts monitor progress and prepare project status reports and conduct project status meetings.

Team Management & Service Development:

- Ensure the requisite training, checking, and mentoring controls to ensure efficient delivery are in place.
- Triage of in-coming matters /Instructions so that the right resources are doing the right tasks at the right time in the process.
- Lead and manage review teams working across multiple real estate matter types and lead the training and development of in-house resources using an "advice and guidance/mentoring style.
- Develop, deliver and maintain accurate documentation and manuals for all property management processes/
- Develop and execute communication and marketing plans to expand use of the Leeds Real Estate team.


- 5 years Real Estate experience, either as a Senior Paralegal or a Line Manager of a team.
- Ideally someone who has experience or building and leading teams.
- Experience of building credibility and trust will a diverse and challenging business stakeholder group.
- Demonstrable experience of driving improvements in the performance of legal teams.

- Superb case management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet tight deadlines without sacrificing quality of client service.
- Leadership skills necessary to lead, motivate and develop teams delivering quality Real estate advice.
- Fluent in standard MS Office applications and ability to quickly master new software.
- Resilience under pressure and motivated by accountability and the desire to meet or exceed objectives and deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to build relationships with legal teams.
- Comfortable and capable of working proactively in a global organisation.
- Reliable, meets deadlines and anticipates problems.
- Takes personal ownership of self-improvement.
- Strong influencing and negotiating skills.


Bachelor's degree, law degree.
